Visitors using 3.x browsers may have problems accessing secure sites. Our server uses a Thawte certificate for security ... if you received a message from your browser about its certificate, we know that your browser's ability to accept Thawte certificates has expired and was shipped with a default Thawte "root" certificate that expired on July 25, 1998. Since these certificates are on servers throughout the internet, all you have to do is update your browser or upgrade its certificate.

If you decide not to upgrade your browser, you must upgrade your browser's Thawte certificate so it will be able to communicate with any server on the internet that uses a Thawte certificate for security. This process is simply and only takes about two minutes; it ensures that your browser works with the tens of thousands of Thawte-certified secure servers throughout the web, and will continue to well into the next century.

Netscape Navigator 3.x

On your browser's menu, choose Options, Security Preferences
Find the entry marked "Thawte Server CA". Delete that certificate.
Point your browser to http://www.thawte.com/serverbasic.crt
Accept the new root certificate.
Recheck your browser by choosing Options, Security Preferences. You should see that the certificate has now been accepted. Now you can order!

The new certificate is identical to your old one, except that it is valid till 2020. It is the same as the certificate in Communicator 4.x.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x (Windows 95 or NT4.0 only)

On your browser's menu, choose View, Options, Security, Sites.
Look for the entry called "Thawte Server CA". It may or may not be there, depending on your precise browser version and upgrade history. If it's there, click on it, then click on "Delete". Click on OK.
Go to http://www.thawte.com/serverbasic.crt. Choose "Accept and Enable" and press OK.
Restart your browser.
Recheck your browser by choosing View, Options, Security, Sites. You should see that the certificate has now been accepted.

You should now have a "Thawte Server CA" entry that is valid till 2020.
